About Recovery Unplugged Austin
Recovery Unplugged provides treatment for addiction and related mental health concerns through an original music-based therapy approach. The program supports clients in identifying and expressing emotions while working through internal psychological barriers. Participation is open to both experienced musicians and those with no musical background, and there is no requirement for prior training. The Recovery Unplugged team includes licensed addiction treatment professionals along with experienced songwriters and musicians. Through the program, clients learn how to communicate through songwriting and musical performance. The residential stay is at least 30 days and includes medical detox when it is clinically necessary. Treatment includes a mix of evidence-based and structured services such as daily group counseling, one-on-one therapy, addiction education, a 12-Step framework, practical coping strategies, and relapse prevention planning. Family therapy is offered when appropriate and is scheduled individually, and family members are encouraged to be involved.
Recovery Unplugged operates multiple locations, and this program is set in central Austin, Texas. Clients can expect comfortable, high-quality housing along with music-equipped rooms designed for writing and performing. The Austin campus includes an outdoor lounge and a recreation space. Meals are planned to support individual nutritional needs and dietary preferences, with some occasions featuring outside catering or off-site dining. Overall, Recovery Unplugged delivers a comprehensive recovery experience centered on distinctive music-focused therapies.
