About Harbor House
Harbor House helps men who are dealing with addiction as well as mental health conditions that occur at the same time. The center runs a residential 28-day program that includes detox services, a halfway-care phase, and ongoing aftercare. With a gender-specific setting, men receive a steady, encouraging environment to strengthen relationships and practice open, truthful communication as they work toward long-term sobriety.
Treatment includes evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement, and a 12-Step model. Staff also lead family counseling and teach life skills to support recovery. The detox process follows a social model that minimizes medication use when it’s not required, emphasizing rest, proper nutrition, and encouragement through peer connection. Each resident receives an individualized plan, along with guidance and education aimed at preparing them to live independently and maintain recovery over time.
On a calm, wooded campus, residents stay in shared rooms and follow a consistent daily schedule. The team provides meals and maintains clear expectations designed to protect safety and reinforce sobriety. During halfway care, clients typically return to work or school while still attending family sessions and group meetings. Across every stage, the program promotes personal progress, supportive community, and accountability.
