About East Tennessee Behavioral Health
East Tennessee Behavioral Health provides detox, inpatient, and outpatient services for adolescents, adults, and older adults. The center supports people who are dealing with a primary mental health condition or an opioid use disorder, and it is also equipped to address additional co-occurring substance-related challenges. Inpatient care is organized to match the needs of each age group, ranging from teens through seniors, while day treatment and intensive outpatient services focus specifically on adult programming.
After completing a detailed intake and assessment, East Tennessee Behavioral Health develops a personalized treatment approach for every client. Their care model brings together medication and evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational enhancement therapy. Treatment is delivered through a mix of individual sessions, family involvement, and group therapy, helping clients gain insight into their patterns of behavior, strengthen coping skills, and build a foundation for sustained recovery and improved emotional well-being.
The center’s 90-bed inpatient unit features updated, comfortable accommodations designed to encourage comfort and healing. Spaces throughout the facility, including counseling areas and quieter zones, are arranged to support emotional stability and clear thinking. Between scheduled sessions, patients can use calm outdoor courtyard areas for reflection and relaxation. Physical activity and structured recreation are also available, including time in a spacious indoor gymnasium created to promote both movement and positive social interaction.
East Tennessee Behavioral Health partners with each patient to map out next steps after discharge. Discharge planning starts from the beginning of treatment and is revised throughout the program to match individual progress and changing needs. Aftercare plans are tailored as well, often including connections to lower levels of care and support services that align with each person’s goals, with the aim of helping them maintain and extend the progress made during treatment.
