About Pyramid Pittsburgh Outpatient

Pyramid Pittsburgh Outpatient provides LGBTQ-affirming care for adults and adolescents dealing with substance use and related mental health challenges. To keep services within reach, Pyramid Healthcare works with most private insurance plans and Medicaid, and also accepts options such as medical assistance, county support, and placement funding. Treatment is available through day programming (about 5–6 hours daily), an intensive outpatient program (IOP) with sessions of approximately 3–4 hours per day, and standard outpatient services at this location. The center also offers walk-in drug and alcohol assessments Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., helping individuals connect with the level of care that fits their needs.

Pyramid Pittsburgh Outpatient Treatment Center includes individual counseling that uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), along with peer support from people who have firsthand experience with addiction recovery. Programming also features group therapy where clients learn about their conditions, build relapse-prevention skills, and benefit from shared experiences with others facing similar situations. Family therapy is available for clients and their loved ones to strengthen understanding and improve communication. Working alongside patients and psychiatrists, medication management is provided for co-occurring mental health disorders. The program also offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) using buprenorphine, Vivitrol, and Sublocade to help reduce cravings for opioids and alcohol.

Located in Pittsburgh’s Uptown area near UPMC Mercy, Duquesne University, and the Monongahela River, Pyramid Pittsburgh Outpatient Treatment Center is convenient for people throughout the city. Public transit riders can use bus routes 4, 61A, 61B, 61C, and 71B, which stop at Fifth Avenue and Pride Street (westbound) as well as Forbes Avenue and Pride Street (eastbound). Drivers have easy access to I-279 and I-376, and there are paid parking lots nearby.
