About POWER House

POWER House is a rehabilitation center that delivers gender-responsive, trauma-informed treatment for women facing substance use disorders. It provides a complete range of services aimed at improving overall wellbeing, addressing both mental and physical health alongside recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Each participant receives an individualized plan created to help her establish a solid base for lasting change.

The program uses multiple therapeutic options, including individual counseling and group therapy, trauma-focused groups, meditation and yoga, as well as twelve-step or other peer support and self-help meetings. Women can also access psychiatric evaluations and medication oversight through an on-site Medical Director and psychiatrist, with additional support available through licensed primary care partners at Squirrel Hill Health Center. This integrated model supports trauma recovery, the development of practical life skills, and healthier family connections, all working toward sustained healing and sobriety.

At POWER House, women live in one of 26 private bedrooms in a secure setting with 24-hour staffing to foster safety and belonging. Daily programming combines counseling with physical activity, expressive arts, and structured opportunities for community and social connection. Family involvement is supported through visits and family counseling, and the center also offers guidance and resources related to education, employment, and housing to encourage successful reintegration into the community.
