About Gaudenzia
Gaudenzia’s Serenity House provides a residential, low-intensity treatment setting for women who are managing substance use disorders alongside co-occurring conditions. The center’s staff follows research-based practices to offer individualized, gender-responsive, and person-centered support. With an integrated continuum of care, patients receive guidance through the full stages of recovery, supported by a network of services across Pennsylvania.
Set less than a block from the Susquehanna River, Serenity House is designed to feel secure and calming for women starting treatment. Programming includes both group and one-on-one therapy, and the treatment plan commonly incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational enhancement therapy (MET). The care team also offers family support resources, suggests appropriate outpatient options, and can connect women with housing referrals. Gaudenzia focuses on building trauma-informed and culturally informed care plans so that each participant’s treatment reflects her background and current needs.
