LifeStance Health operates multiple sites and brings together a national team of licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, and nurse practitioners to support people dealing with a wide range of mental health and substance use challenges through both face-to-face and secure virtual sessions. In the western Portland area, the center—previously known as Western Psychological & Counseling Services—offers care for mental illness, process addictions, grief and major life changes, postpartum depression, and additional concerns.
LifeStance works with highly rated clinicians who provide treatment for clients across the lifespan using individualized plans. Services address conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma-related issues, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. The team also treats alcohol and drug addiction, as well as process addictions like eating disorders and hoarding. Specialized support is available for adolescents who struggle with school avoidance. Depending on needs, gender-focused care and specialty services may be offered, including treatment related to men’s or women’s concerns, psychosis, postpartum depression or anxiety, couples issues, grief, insomnia, and childhood behavioral difficulties.
At LifeStance, care is coordinated through a multidisciplinary collaborative approach involving board-certified providers and social workers. Treatment plans often include evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based stress reduction, and solution-focused therapy. When working with children or adolescents, additional approaches such as narrative therapy or play therapy may be used.
Patients and families can access adult psychiatry and therapy, child and adolescent psychiatry and therapy, as well as group or family therapy based on clinical requirements. The center also supports new parents managing life transition stress, mental health symptoms, or sleep problems. Beyond counseling, LifeStance provides neuropsychological testing, along with psychological testing and evaluations.
Comprehensive mental health services are offered five days per week, Monday through Friday, with options for virtual or in-person appointments. LifeStance Health also accepts most major insurance plans.
Also confirm the facility is licensed by Oregon. If you are withdrawing from alcohol or benzodiazepines, ask about medical detox; do not stop suddenly on your own.
LifeStance Health Beaverton did not report which payment types it accepts. If you have Medicaid, ask whether the facility accepts your Oregon Medicaid plan or can refer you to one that does. Most private plans must cover substance use treatment on terms comparable to other medical care under federal parity law.
