506 Wellness Way, Norman, OK 73071
Based in Norman, Oklahoma, Living Hope Eating Disorders Treatment Center provides comprehensive, whole-person care for adolescents, adults, and children of all genders. A coordinated group of doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, and dietitians collaborates to address anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, PICA, ARFID, OSFED, and rumination. Although the program focuses on eating disorders, it also attends to related concerns such as depression and anxiety, trauma, difficulties with body image, and stress in social environments. Services are tailored to each person and may include structured meal planning with nutritional oversight, along with evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and art therapy.
The residential setting is designed for recovery and offers 12 beds, along with multiple program options including residential care, day treatment, intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient services. Clients spend time on the landscaped grounds, with nearby gardens, walking paths, outdoor patios, and access to a pool. Living Hope includes round-the-clock medical supervision, offering medical stabilization when needed and weekly reviews led by the Medical Director. Treatment typically includes weekly dietetic sessions, daily blind weights and monitoring of vital signs, and staff-supported meals and snacks with meal coaching. Most weekly plans also include 2 to 3 therapy sessions and one psychiatric evaluation. The center holds a Family Day once each month, offers weekend visiting, and provides family therapy when it is appropriate for the individual case.
Living Hope also offers a Day Treatment, or Partial Hospitalization Program, operating 5 days per week with 9-hour days. Participants follow individualized care plans that include medical checks, therapy and dietetic sessions, supervised meals and snacks, blind weight and vital-sign monitoring, and art therapy, along with 6 to 8 hours of group programming daily, including culinary skill groups. The Intensive Outpatient Program provides comparable support but runs up to 5 days per week for about 3.5 hours per day, with schedules available in the morning or afternoon; it also includes a monthly Family Day. Outpatient care starts with a two-hour health assessment and physical examination, followed by psychotherapy, counseling, and nutrition appointments for individuals or families. Children under 12 can be treated through the Outpatient Program. The center additionally maintains an Outpatient Clinic in Bentonville, AR, where clients can access the full range of outpatient services.
