About Saint Vincent Family Services

Founded in 1975 in connection with Columbus Children’s Psychiatric Hospital, Saint Vincent Family Services provides trauma-informed mental health support for children from infancy through high school throughout Ohio. Located in Columbus, the organization delivers outpatient counseling, telehealth options, in-home and in-school programs, and 24/7 residential treatment. Guided by a mission focused on helping families create brighter futures, the team provides each child with knowledgeable and caring guidance to improve emotional well-being, behavior, and family relationships.

Care starts with a thorough assessment that leads to an individualized treatment approach. Licensed professionals offer individual, group, and family therapy aimed at strengthening coping abilities, supporting healthy emotional expression, and building positive relationships. The center also includes psychiatric services, medication management, and OhioRISE care coordination. To support early growth, school-based and early learning prevention programs promote emotional development, and bilingual services are offered to Spanish-speaking families.

For children in residential care, 24-hour supervision is provided in a supportive, home-like environment that combines consistent structure with comfort. Families take an active role in the treatment process, participating in sessions and maintaining ongoing contact through regular communication. Medical services are available on-site through The Ohio State University, linking physical and mental health care. In every program, children receive encouragement, a focus on safety, and the practical supports they need to succeed.
