About B Riley Sober Home
Situated close to Clifton Blvd, less than a mile from Lake Erie, the B. Riley House provides residential supportive care for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who are dealing with substance use concerns. Public transit is convenient: bus routes 26 and 26A stop within a short walk of the center at Detroit Ave and W 114th Street, and street parking is available nearby. The red subway line is also about a 15-minute walk away, with service at the West Blvd-Cudell Station.
The B. Riley House offers multiple levels of treatment, including day services, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and outpatient programming centered on sexual health. Day treatment runs Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 2 PM and includes lunch. Participants complete a biopsychosocial assessment and receive individual and group counseling, peer support, orientation to 12-Step communities, and case management. The IOP operates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM, totaling six hours of required individual and group psychotherapy, along with attendance at a 12-Step group seven days each week. Group sessions include education on recovery, relapse prevention, and LGBTQ+ topics, as well as holistic activities such as yoga and spirituality. The Sexual Health Program addresses issues including identity-related shame, sexual obsession and compulsive patterns, sex-related anxiety, sexual abuse, and anxiety and trauma associated with an HIV diagnosis. The center accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicaid, and also uses a sliding fee scale.
