About Pike County Recovery Council
The Recovery Council is based in Chillicothe, Ohio, only a few minutes from U.S. Route 35. It offers outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization care for people dealing with substance use and mental health concerns. Services are designed for adults and families, guiding individuals through recovery beginning with withdrawal management and continuing to long-term assistance. A licensed, experienced staff provides support around the clock and includes medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help clients stabilize and build a solid foundation for sustained wellbeing.
The Recovery Council follows a holistic, trauma-informed model that addresses the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. The team consists of licensed counselors, nurses, and peer supporters who develop individualized treatment plans. Therapies grounded in clinical research, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and certified counseling, are combined with complementary supports such as yoga, coaching, and life skills education. In a caring, respectful setting, clients are encouraged to regain confidence and move forward at their own pace.
Ongoing success is supported through programs aimed at long-term stability and healing within families. The center provides specialized options including a trauma-informed program for women impacted by human trafficking, family reunification housing, and certified recovery housing for individuals preparing to transition from treatment. Prevention efforts extend into the community, including outreach to local schools and youth as well as scholarships. By partnering with courts, communities, and families, the center helps people remain hopeful, recover together, and progress with assurance.
