About Restore Addiction Recovery

Located close to Akron Fulton Airport, Restore Addiction Recovery is a no-cost, residential, four-stage recovery program built on a Christ-centered approach. It serves adult men struggling with alcohol or drug addiction, including those dealing with nicotine addiction as well. The smoke-free campus features opportunities for worship, a hands-on gardening program, cooking classes, and art nights. There are also offsite activities such as bowling, and the center offers parking on site.

The program runs for one full year. In Phase 1, Foundation, men participate in 30 days of individual and group counseling. This period helps them get familiar with the program and fellow participants. After completing the month, they may decide whether to continue into the next three phases, which take place over the following 11 months. During Phase 1, participants are not permitted to make phone calls.

Phase 2, Discovery, covers months 2 through 5 and includes regular work along with time spent building relationships with family. Participants work every other week, and their wages support Restore Addiction Recovery. Family members are welcome to visit on the fourth Sunday of each month.

In Phase 3, Application, participants attend morning devotionals and work up to 40 hours per week from months 6 through 9. They receive a paycheck for their work during this phase. After returning to campus, they take part in life skills training focused on managing finances and dealing with legal matters. Family visits continue on the fourth Sunday each month.

Phase 4, Launch, takes place during months 10 through 12 and focuses on discharge readiness. Participants work on imagining what recovery life will look like and on recognizing practical ways to serve and give back to the community.

Restore Addiction Recovery accepts men who are willing to make meaningful changes and who are open to Christ-centered guidance. Enrollment must be voluntary, not court-ordered. The center does not accept individuals with sex or arson-related charges, an active warrant, or those currently in the reporting phase of probation or parole. Participants must be able to take part in physical chores and hands-on work, and they cannot receive disability benefits while in the program. The program also does not permit Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocade, or methadone.

Restore Addiction Recovery works in partnership with Grace Church, including its nearby Bath and Norton campuses. Residents are not charged for their stay; funding is supported through partner businesses that employ participants during Phases 2 and 3, along with donations and individual prayers. The center shares ministry updates through a newsletter.
