About Dilworth Center
The Dilworth Center helps individuals address substance use while also confronting the deeper emotional issues that often accompany it, guiding clients to rebuild their lives from the inside out. Their focus is entirely on intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for adults, young adults, and adolescents. As a result, the center dedicates all of its experience and compassion to ensuring this level of care is not only effective, but genuinely transformative.
Treatment at the Dilworth Center is built on purposeful structure and a sincere regard for the 12-Step method. Clients are expected to arrive prepared to commit and ready to work through challenges honestly. Sessions are kept intentionally small so that each person’s voice matters and meaningful change can take root. The program emphasizes 12-Step facilitation as a core pathway for recovery, while also incorporating evidence-based therapies, relapse prevention strategies, and mental health support.
Located in Charlotte’s historic Dilworth area, the Dilworth Center is housed in a restored 100-year-old home with a calm, inviting character that helps people feel at ease right away. It’s close to the city for easy access, yet quiet enough to feel like a retreat. On the grounds, the broad front porch has become a welcoming meeting spot where clients and staff gather in rocking chairs to strengthen connections.
In weekly alumni gatherings, there’s space for both laughter and candid discussion, as graduates share what recovery life truly looks like. For people who want to keep building, the center provides an advanced relapse prevention program. This includes small groups of about 4–5 participants meeting weekly across 16 sessions, using a practical, workbook-based approach.
