Caz Recovery’s Madonna House is a home-like, community-style residential program designed to support adult women and their children of preschool age and younger who are dealing with substance use issues and related mental health concerns. Set in a secluded area in the woods near Lockport, it provides a calm, secure environment away from common triggers, with room for up to 16 women and their children. The center delivers intensive rehabilitation for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, along with reintegration support such as vocational guidance. A key focus is on mothers who are dependent on drugs or alcohol and who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless.

Caz Recovery develops an individualized plan for each resident, identifying personal recovery objectives and specific treatment needs. Program stays can range from several weeks to a few months or more, depending on the client’s care plan. Along with reintegration assistance, participants attend individual counseling and family therapy, and they receive holistic, trauma-informed support. The program also includes daily life skills training, case management, and relapse prevention planning, aiming to strengthen coping skills, self-reliance, and independence.

Madonna House is situated on a rural, private, wooded property and offers semi-private accommodations, wheelchair-friendly access, meals on site, and a recreational space for both women and children. On-site childcare is also available. The program is certified by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports to provide rehabilitation services and is supervised by the Niagara County Department of Mental Health. Eligible participants are females age 18 or older with young children who need intensive substance abuse treatment and are enrolled in a Medicaid Managed Care plan.
