About Turning Point Inc

Since opening in 1975, Turning Point New Jersey has supported thousands of teens, adults, and their families as they work through substance use disorders and related mental health challenges. The center has been recognized by Newsweek as one of the top 7 rehabilitation programs in New Jersey. Turning Point provides a complete range of care, including subacute detox, short- and long-term residential treatment, intensive outpatient programming (IOP), a women’s sober living residence, and services through the Aspire Counseling Center in Pompton Plains. The Aspire Counseling Center focuses on adolescents ages 13–18 who are dealing with substance use disorder along with co-occurring emotional and behavioral concerns.

Recovery programming at Turning Point is commonly structured as short-term plans that run from 1 to 45 days, while long-term residential care is typically more intensive and often lasts around 90 days. Programming is designed to encourage personal development and strengthen social skills. Treatment also includes support for successful reintegration into the wider community, with a strong emphasis on education and vocational growth. Across all levels of care, clients take part in evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), individual and group counseling, family therapy, 12-Step facilitation, and medication management. A holistic component is also included, featuring options like art therapy, sound-based therapy, yoga, fitness activities, and scheduled off-site events.

Turning Point New Jersey offers programs across several locations in the state. The staff provide guidance at each stage to promote sustainable recovery. The facility is accredited by CARF and generally works with most private insurance plans.
