About First Dawn Recovery

First Dawn Recovery provides services for veterans, active and former military personnel, first responders, National Guard members, and reservists through a 10-bed residential program focused on substance use, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental health conditions. The center recognizes the unique pressures faced by these individuals and delivers a customized program centered on each participant’s needs, helping them regain ownership of their recovery process. Through peer support and proven therapeutic methods, clients develop a strong base for long-term progress.

First Dawn Recovery offers trauma-informed care for veterans, military members, and first responders, combining empathy with specialized treatment. This approach helps lower stigma, avoids re-traumatization, and builds confidence by addressing trauma with care and respect. Because the program is designed with an understanding of military culture, participants are equipped to work through triggers, strengthen relationships, and transition successfully back into everyday civilian life.

A range of therapeutic options supports clients in gaining practical tools for recovery. Participants receive three individual therapy sessions each week, which may include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Along with family and group counseling, clients may engage in art, music, and recreational therapy. The program also teaches skills for handling emotions, including mindfulness practices, anger management, and conflict resolution strategies.

First Dawn Recovery’s Las Vegas setting offers a welcoming, home-like environment for up to 10 residents. Clients have access to modern comforts, a fully equipped kitchen, private or shared bedrooms, spacious bathrooms, and outdoor spaces such as a pool and patio. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and clients can keep their cell phones.
