About Desert Hope

Desert Hope Outpatient offers outpatient services for substance use disorders and accompanying mental health challenges, combining a full continuum of care with treatment plans customized to each person. Outpatient treatment options include day treatment, intensive outpatient, and standard outpatient programming. During their outpatient treatment, clients may also live at the nearby sober living facility.

Clients may choose one level of care or transition smoothly between levels as their needs change. The center’s most structured outpatient option, day treatment, typically runs for 1–2 weeks with five treatment days per week. Clients usually participate for about six hours each day and take part in evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and the 12-Step model. In the intensive outpatient program (IOP), clients attend sessions around three days per week for approximately three hours per day. General outpatient care is scheduled for multiple hours each week, based on the individual’s recovery requirements.

Every person at Desert Hope Outpatient receives a recovery plan designed around their specific needs. Services may include one-on-one counseling, group therapy, and family therapy when appropriate. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is available when indicated. The program also includes psychoeducation to help clients and their families better understand addiction and the recovery process.

Desert Hope Resolutions provides separate sober living residences. Residents have access to shared common areas and kitchens, and meals are prepared together. Transportation is arranged for appointments, treatment sessions, and group activities. Desert Hope Outpatient further supports long-term recovery through its alumni network, alumni app, and peer support meetings on topics such as grief and loss, LGBTQ+ support, and relapse prevention.
