About Mid Plains Center for

Mid-Plains Center supports young people and adults facing mental health and substance use challenges. The center provides outpatient counseling, crisis services, detox, and medication assistance. Serving Central Nebraska for more than 50 years, it is especially recognized for its 24/7 crisis stabilization unit and strong involvement in the local community. Care is offered in a way that is open to everyone, regardless of what they can afford.

The team uses evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Clinicians also incorporate trauma-informed and solution-focused strategies to promote healing. Treatment focuses on the whole person, addressing the mind, body, and relationships, helping individuals develop coping skills, improve well-being, and maintain progress in recovery. Each program is customized to match a person’s specific needs and goals.

Mid-Plains Center also offers specialized services, including multi-systemic therapy (MST) for youth at risk, youth crisis assessments, and safe transportation options for teens. Programs can be provided at the clinic, in a person’s home, or within the community. Spanish-speaking support and flexible scheduling further help make services easier to access and more welcoming.
