About McCallum Place

McCallum Place delivers intensive medical and psychological care for eating disorders among children, adolescents, and adults. The center offers round-the-clock supervision, nutrition-focused education, and support from registered dietitians, along with academic assistance provided by on-site teachers and tutors.

At McCallum Place, treatment is delivered by a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, child and family therapists, physicians, nurses, dietitians, and sports medicine specialists. During the residential phase, clients participate in at least one one-on-one meeting with their psychologist, three individual sessions per week with their eating disorder therapist, and weekly counseling with a dietitian. Care planning is coordinated through a weekly team meeting where professionals review goals and track progress. McCallum Place also offers staff support throughout meals and snacks, and can arrange urgent medical interventions when required, including nasogastric tube feeding.

McCallum Place treats anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, body dysmorphia, laxative misuse, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). In addition to primary eating disorder treatment, the center addresses related mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, self-harm, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and personality disorders.

Care is available through several levels of support, including residential treatment, partial hospitalization, an intensive outpatient program, and transitional housing. McCallum Place also runs the Victory Program, a specialized track for athletes, providing eating disorder care alongside athletic recovery support. This includes help from sports psychologists, coaches, and sports dietitians to support a safe and sustainable return to training and health.
