About Pine Grove Legacy

The Pine Grove Legacy Program offers care for adults 55 and older who are dealing with substance use disorder, trauma, and related mental health challenges. The Legacy program combines residential addiction treatment with a gradual transition through a step-down Day Treatment program (PHP). Plans are designed around the client’s goals and needs, and each individualized treatment approach is reviewed every week by a multidisciplinary team. Services may include 12-Step facilitation, gender-specific group therapy, experiential activities, counseling for grief and loss, exercise and fitness, a family week program, and medication management. Pine Grove also provides 24-hour nursing support and a team of specialists such as addictionologists, psychiatrists, therapists, nurse practitioners, and a dietitian. In addition, Pine Grove is connected to Forrest General, a 512-bed hospital and Level II trauma center.

The program is located in a 16-bed setting in the rural area of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Clients receive private rooms with twin beds, desks, dressers, and lamps. The home includes multiple outdoor seating spaces where clients can relax and enjoy birdwatching near the feeders.
