About Recovery Homes of Minnesota - Jefferson House

Recovery Homes of Minnesota offers high-quality, gender-specific sober living programs in safe, well-situated homes across residential neighborhoods in the Saint Paul area. Their welcoming, substance-free housing supports people in recovery as they build a stable, affordable lifestyle in an environment guided by dignity and compassion. Through a meaningful, growth-focused process, residents develop greater accountability and stronger connections to others.

The Jefferson House is a supportive sober living residence for men only, set up as a quiet, comfortable retreat near Macalester College and St. Catherine’s University. It also sits within walking distance of many restaurants, stores, recovery meetings, work options, and recreational activities. With a structured, home-like setting and a small group of men in recovery, the community is designed to foster both encouragement and accountability in a healing atmosphere.

Residents benefit from a range of attractive amenities, including fully furnished private bedrooms. Jefferson House also provides bedding, towels, linens, and essential bathroom items. On-site, free laundry is available, along with plenty of closet space, spacious shared living and entertainment areas, premium cable television with flat-screen TVs, and high-speed internet. Well-kept outdoor yards and relaxing lounge spaces add to the welcoming feel. Monthly rent includes all utilities to help keep services affordable.

All residences are completely substance free, and a house manager is present on-site at each location. The program follows a therapeutic community approach with an emphasis on responsibility and accountability. To help maintain a safe, sober environment, residents may be asked to complete random drug and alcohol testing during their stay. The overall experience is supportive and motivating, helping individuals strengthen their self-worth through personal transformation. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is welcomed.
