About Elite Recovery

Elite Recovery is a brand within Horowitz Health and operates in the Twin Cities area. The center provides an intensive outpatient program (IOP) in both face-to-face and virtual formats, with courses commonly running 16–24 weeks. Through its outpatient services, Elite Recovery supports relapse prevention planning, the Minnesota Matrix Model, anger management counseling, and scheduled access to medically-assisted treatment providers, along with additional supports. The in-person IOP is offered in a gender-specific format, and there is also a dedicated LGBTQIA+ track. That program is called Elite Affirm, and participants are expected to complete at least 12 weeks of programming. Sessions run Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:35 PM. After 12 weeks, participants begin a step-down schedule, first reducing to four days per week and later to three days per week.

For the partial hospitalization program (PHP), individuals must live in one of Elite Recovery’s sober living homes while enrolled. In the first five days after admission, each participant meets with a licensed alcohol and drug counselor for at least one hour each week. A clinician also meets with every participant to complete a comprehensive assessment and create an individualized treatment plan. Throughout the program, treatment plans are reviewed weekly so that goals, objectives, and interventions can be adjusted as needed. The PHP includes medical services such as psychiatric medication management, nursing support, medication-assisted treatment, and nutrition and dietary counseling. The program also offers peer recovery support services (PRS) and treatment coordination to help connect participants with relevant community resources. Participants are required to complete a minimum of eight weeks, attending 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:15 PM. Lunch is provided during weekly programming, while other meals are not.

Elite Recovery works with multiple sober living homes to offer lower-cost housing options for men, women, and individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. Participants may earn housing credit based on the number of hours they attend outpatient programming at Elite Recovery, which they can apply toward their housing payment. Housing costs vary from $550 to $1,200 per month.
