About Reed Behavioral Health

Reed Behavioral Health is an outpatient clinic in Edina that provides a range of therapeutic services for people of all ages. The center focuses on comprehensive care for addiction, including treatment when substance use occurs alongside mental health concerns or eating disorders. In addition, Reed Behavioral Health provides ongoing individual therapy for a variety of conditions, such as services for children and adolescents, adults, and clients who have ADHD, as well as couples and family therapy. They also offer support for seniors, chronic pain or illness, postpartum depression, and other related needs.

At Reed Behavioral Health, treatment is customized to each person and may be delivered through day treatment or intensive outpatient programs. These programs combine individual sessions, group therapy, and structured activities, with scheduling designed to fit clients’ lives. Care is provided using a trauma-informed approach. The day treatment option is intended for individuals dealing with addiction and co-occurring disorders, meeting multiple hours each day, five days a week. For those who need a less intensive but still structured level of support, the evening intensive outpatient program (IOP) includes three-hour sessions three evenings per week.

Programming may involve individualized counseling and treatment planning, chemical dependency process groups, relapse prevention education, emotional wellness, stress management, health education, relationship and family counseling, independent living skills, meditation and mindfulness, mental health therapy, and group counseling. There is also a specialized program for addiction combined with secondary eating disorders, offering psychotherapy alongside individualized nutritional counseling. Reed Behavioral Health additionally provides psychiatric services, medication management, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help reduce cravings and support recovery during withdrawal.

Reed Behavioral Health’s aftercare includes continued support in person or through virtual options, discharge planning and relapse prevention strategies, community support meetings, peer mentoring, and case management services.
