About CARE Counseling Loring Park (Clifton Avenue)

Located on Clifton Avenue in Minneapolis, CARE Counseling Loring Park is an outpatient mental health clinic serving people across the Minneapolis–St. Paul area. The center provides research-informed therapy for a wide range of clients, including individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents. A key feature is that CARE Counseling also offers therapeutic support for young children under the age of five. The clinic works to lower access barriers by providing support for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent individuals.

Services are available for a variety of concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, health and sleep difficulties, relationship and self-care challenges, eating disorders, and substance use addictions that occur alongside other issues. Clients receive customized, evidence-based approaches, including person-centered integrative psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), somatic experiencing, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

CARE Counseling has been approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists in the Twin Cities. The clinic also collaborates with many local partners, including Target, Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, and the Minnesota Psychological Association, to host education sessions focused on mental health and overall well-being.

CARE Counseling is part of UnitedHealthcare’s Optum division, so it accepts insurance through UnitedHealthcare/Optum and other providers, along with self-pay.
