About BHG Brainerd Treatment Center

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) provides outpatient addiction care and works closely with referral partners to help people continue their recovery from opioid use. The program is based on proven clinical methods, and BHG brings together a multidisciplinary team that combines medication-assisted treatment (MAT), individual or group counseling, and supportive wraparound care. These services are adjusted to match each patient’s specific recovery goals and needs.

BHG operates 114 treatment centers in 22 states. As the largest Joint Commission-accredited outpatient network in the United States, it is able to apply standardized high-quality practices across its sites while serving more than 43,000 patients each day. The organization reports strong progress: 92% of patients show improved quality of life and mental health, 83% report reduced substance use, and 45% obtain employment during their first year of treatment.

BHG is also part of the small group of providers—about 4.2% nationally—that offer all three FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder, along with counseling and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) at select locations. This whole-person model is designed to improve retention in treatment, lower opioid use, reduce risky behaviors, and support sustained long-term recovery.
