About Megans House
Megan’s House is part of The Megan House Foundation, Inc. and is situated about 30 miles outside of Boston. The three-story facility can accommodate up to 28 young women at any given time. Most residents stay for approximately six months, though the length of treatment may be extended when circumstances require it.
Treatment at Megan’s House includes individual, group, and family therapy, delivered by qualified licensed mental health and addiction professionals. Residents also receive personalized success coaching to support their goals related to education and job readiness. Depending on availability, the program may include art therapy and equine-assisted therapy. In addition, residents can join physical wellness activities such as boxing and yoga.
Life skills education is a core part of the experience. Young women practice time management, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a home, along with strengthening communication skills with family and peers. Residents prepare their own breakfast and lunch, while dinner is provided. They also have the opportunity to work in an on-site vegetable garden, and the harvest is used in meals. Daily responsibilities are shared through a rotating chore schedule.
