About HRI Hospital
HRI Hospital helps adults dealing with serious mental health and substance use difficulties through inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient services. The center offers specialized programming such as dual diagnosis treatment, women’s-only services, LGBTQIA+ support, and programs designed for young adults as well as black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC). Care is available both virtually and in person, making it easier for clients to access treatment while working toward stability and sustained recovery.
HRI Hospital combines evidence-based approaches with holistic therapies. Services may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed treatment, expressive arts, and relapse prevention. Clients participate in both individual and group sessions, supported by weekly medication management and case coordination. The overall goal is to lessen symptoms, strengthen coping abilities, and improve emotional well-being through culturally responsive and trauma-informed care.
Treatment takes place in structured units or through day programs at the Brookline campus, with virtual participation available when appropriate. During treatment, meals are provided and dietary preferences are accommodated. Comfortable indoor environments and connections to community resources promote healing, and affordable transportation options help clients attend consistently and maintain engagement with care.
