About Helping Up Mission
Helping Up Mission supports people dealing with mental health concerns, substance use, homelessness, and feelings of hopelessness. Using a 12-step program grounded in Christian values, the organization provides spiritual recovery services, training in practical life skills, case management, overnight guest accommodations, and assistance for veterans. They also run mobile street outreach to meet homeless individuals where they are, offering connection, help, and encouragement.
The mission uses a holistic model that includes counseling, peer support groups, Bible studies, and work-based activities. These programs are designed to help participants work through past pain, develop healthier routines, learn new abilities, and regain hope. Helping Up Mission also offers targeted resources for veterans and for Spanish-speaking individuals. The Center for Women & Children provides a secure space for women, including new mothers. In addition, the organization collaborates with hospitals through the Next Step Program to continue care for people who are in recovery.
