About Council on Alcoholism and DA of

The Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA) provides an outpatient treatment program for substance use at its Shreveport location. The program supports clients in building skills for early recovery, coping with stress, spotting personal triggers, and understanding unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Participants receive individual counseling, education related to substance use disorders, and relapse prevention approaches, provided in a flexible setting connected to the community. Founded in 1958, CADA has long served the Shreveport-Bossier region. Its CARF-accredited treatment facilities accept new clients seven days a week and provide a comprehensive continuum of care. CADA also offers specialized programming for pregnant women and for mothers with dependent children. To meet urgent needs, it runs a 24/7 Mobile Crisis Response Team as well as a regional Crisis Outreach Team that assists people who are at risk for opioid use disorder and other addictions.
