About The Maples Baton Rouge

The Maples supports teenage girls aged 13 to 18 who are dealing with mental health concerns, substance use disorders, or eating disorders. When a physician or mental health professional suggests a residential level of care, The Maples provides complimentary screenings to help clarify the most suitable treatment approach for each prospective patient. The center offers a supportive, well-structured environment where residents can work toward recovery and build a healthier future. The Maples also emphasizes active family participation, including involvement in treatment, therapy sessions, and aftercare planning, to promote clarity and consistency throughout the process.

The Maples delivers a range of therapies grounded in research during its recommended 60-day program. Recovery may include motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and SMART Recovery, which are used to support lasting change. The center believes that these evidence-based methods help strengthen personal drive for improvement and encourage residents to adopt a more positive routine. In addition, complementary options such as yoga, equine therapy, art therapy, music therapy, and mindfulness practices are integrated to enhance the healing process.

Alongside daily medical and psychiatric support, the program reserves time for completing schoolwork online. The Maples includes on-site tutors who assist with assignments and academic needs. During free time, residents are encouraged to form friendships, explore creative interests through art or music, and participate in outdoor physical activities. Staff at The Maples work to ensure that, by discharge, each patient leaves with improved self-esteem and stronger emotional regulation than at intake.
