About Addiction Recovery Care (ARC)
The Lackey Residential Treatment Center by Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) provides a structured, full-scale treatment program designed for men dealing with addiction. The center focuses on an all-around healing model that supports the entire person—mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Care starts with thorough evaluations, followed by medical stabilization and residential treatment, and it continues with ongoing guidance as residents progress through each phase of recovery. At Lackey, the range of services includes medical stabilization, individual and group counseling, spiritual support, 12-Step resources, wellness programming, and vocational pathways.
A standout element at Lackey is its broad vocational training component. Through ARC’s Crisis to Career approach, the center combines substance use treatment with practical job preparation, helping people with addiction move back into the workplace and build meaningful, productive futures. The program offers skill-focused workshops and real-world training opportunities, including the Peer Support Specialist Program (PSSP) and Second Chance Automotive.
The Peer Support Specialist Program (PSSP) prepares individuals in recovery to support others who are experiencing substance use disorders. Training includes recovery strategies, clinical methods, essential life skills, and health and safety education. Graduates may qualify as Kentucky Peer Support Specialists and potentially earn up to 28 college credits. An additional feature is the Creative Arts PSSP, which incorporates creative activities such as theater and music to strengthen peer support and recovery.
Second Chance Automotive delivers job-oriented training for people in recovery, helping them develop the competencies needed to pursue ASE Certified Mechanic credentials. By merging addiction treatment with hands-on automotive instruction, participants gain practical repair experience while working toward stable employment. This pathway supports a smoother transition from treatment into long-term work and stability. Since 2016, more than 80% of participants have stayed employed while continuing active recovery, reflecting the program’s impact on sustained success.
