About Sunrise Childrens Services

In the heart of Somerset, Kentucky, the center provides a secure, Christ-centered environment where boys and girls ages 12–18 receive care after experiencing trauma or neglect. It offers round-the-clock residential programming, emotional guidance, and education through on-site services. The focus is to help young people recover, develop new skills, and prepare for a positive next step, including reunification with their families or placement in foster care.

At Sunrise, therapy is central to the healing process. The team delivers individual, group, and family counseling to help children process trauma, strengthen coping strategies, and rebuild confidence. Licensed clinicians partner with each youth using established therapeutic practices while maintaining a Christian perspective. The center also works alongside local schools to support consistent progress in each child’s education.

Residents at Sunrise live in comfortable cottages with opportunities for both shared living and personal space. Daily meals are home-style, and the schedule includes engaging activities such as sports, art, and games. Children also have time for quiet reflection and structured group moments, creating a routine that supports safety, stability, and a sense of belonging within a community guided by respect and love.
