About Upper Room Recovery

This transitional housing program was created to offer residents a secure, consistent place to live while they focus on recovery. Upper Room is designed to support both men and women as they work toward a healthier, self-sufficient life without drugs and alcohol. The center operates on the belief in equality, welcoming individuals of every race, disability, religion, and gender orientation.

To be considered for entry into Upper Room, applicants must be clean and sober for at least 30 days. They must not have a criminal background, show a genuine desire to change, cooperate well with others, and agree to ongoing drug and alcohol testing. Residents can live in shared dorm-style housing that is separated by gender, with a cost of $100 per week. They regularly meet with a case manager to track progress, participate in volunteer activities, attend AA/NA meetings and house meetings, work with a 12-Step sponsor, and join the religious services of their choosing. For anyone who is not yet fully clean or sober, Upper Room staff can recommend nearby programs that match the level of support needed. Each resident is responsible for providing their own food, laundry items, and toiletries.
