About Aware Recovery Care of Indiana LLC
Aware Recovery Care Indiana uses a distinctive “Recover Where You Live” method for substance use treatment for adults 18 and older. Through its in-home addiction treatment (IHAT) program, clients receive a blend of at-home support and telehealth services, along with concierge assistance, designed around each person’s circumstances. The center treats addiction using a biopsychosocial curriculum that includes proven therapeutic approaches, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), one-on-one counseling, family therapy, and coordinated input from outside professionals. When detox is required, clients complete medically supervised detox using virtual nursing support and MAT.
Aware Recovery Care Indiana’s approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, based on the idea that everyone should have a chance at sustained recovery. By responding to individual needs and offering steady support in the home, the program aims to help clients move toward a healthier, more meaningful, addiction-free life.
Each client is assigned a care coordinator, either a nurse or social worker, along with two client recovery advisors (CRAs). The CRAs provide peer support and help coordinate care throughout the program. They determine whether additional outside services are needed and set up appointments with a primary care provider (PCP), individual therapist, medical specialists, and a family education facilitator. If a client already has these providers, Aware Recovery Care’s medical director works to coordinate care with them. The family education facilitator helps loved ones learn about addiction and recovery and learn practical ways to heal together.
The program is available on a monthly schedule, with timelines typically ranging from one month up to a year. The in-home and virtual format includes as many as 20 one-on-one teletherapy sessions with an Internal Psychotherapist. During these sessions, clients work on handling stress, strengthening self-esteem, practicing self-compassion, and improving communication. They also identify unhelpful thought patterns and work to replace them with healthier ways of thinking.
A typical day includes about one hour with a member of the care team. Depending on the day, clients may receive an in-person visit from one of the two CRAs or participate in a video session with their 1:1 therapist. Clients also meet monthly with their Care Coordinator, and the team collaborates often to ensure the plan stays aligned with goals and evolving needs.
Clients at Aware Recovery Care Indiana complete a personalized discharge process built around their treatment objectives and home situation. They review the full discharge plan with the clinical coordinator, including continued involvement with social supports, progress on agreed goals, and aftercare appointments with licensed providers connected to their recovery journey.
