About Recovery Centers of America

RCA at St. Charles was ranked #8 in Illinois by Newsweek in its 2024 list of America’s Best Addiction Centers. The center provides evidence-based treatment paired with a compassionate approach. RCA helps individuals with substance use disorders and related mental health issues using medically supervised detox and residential programs. Located on a calm, roomy campus, the program emphasizes consistent therapeutic structure so clients can distance themselves from everyday pressures and start forming the habits needed for lasting recovery.

The team follows six core principles designed to support long-term success. Treatment can include medication-assisted care to lower cravings and reduce the chance of relapse, daily 12-step meetings for peer encouragement, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) training to strengthen emotional regulation and coping skills. RCA also incorporates family participation, maintains alumni relationships after discharge, and uses ongoing progress monitoring to refine the plan and improve outcomes during treatment.

In the Chicagoland region, RCA at St. Charles sits on 125 scenic acres, offering a quiet setting away from daily stress. Semi-private cottages feature full-size beds, private bathrooms, and flat-screen TVs. Clients receive homemade meals in the cafeteria, spend time on the outdoor grounds and around the pond, and use the modern gym and wellness facilities to stay active.

RCA’s alumni network continues to provide structure and encouragement after treatment ends. Ongoing recovery meetings and sober activities such as movies, games, and picnics help former clients connect through shared community and support. Many events also allow alumni to bring family and friends, helping strengthen the support system during recovery.
