About Gateway Foundation
The Joliet-based Gateway Foundation delivers personalized, research-informed care for people dealing with substance use disorders as well as related mental health challenges. Clients can access a variety of programs, including outpatient services and an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which are structured to guide individuals at each step of their recovery. Treatment commonly incorporates approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care to address the physical, emotional, and mental effects of addiction.
A skilled group of clinicians and support staff works closely with each person to promote long-term healing. Their full continuum of services includes individual counseling, group therapy, and family involvement, creating a treatment plan suited to the individual’s goals and circumstances. Gateway Foundation also provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help ease withdrawal discomfort and reduce cravings, strengthening overall outcomes. Alongside clinical services, the center emphasizes holistic recovery so clients can develop healthier coping skills and move toward a more meaningful life.
