Connections Health is an outpatient mental health program providing therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups. Connections Health serves clients across the lifespan, with special attention to adolescents, college and graduate students at Northwestern University and other institutions, young adults, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
At Connections Health, therapists work directly with clients in a supportive, collaborative setting to help them better understand themselves and build the ability to make meaningful changes. Treatment blends insight-focused, cognitive, and behavioral methods, guiding clients through a process of discovery, learning, and personal growth.
Connections Health also assists clients in strengthening and repairing romantic and family relationships. Sessions emphasize building emotional insight, improving communication, and developing practical conflict-resolution skills, helping clients foster greater connection and satisfaction at every stage of life. Counseling may address topics such as sex and intimacy, premarital preparation, differences in values, major stressors and life transitions, infidelity, separation, divorce, and related concerns.
Through group therapy, clients can openly discuss their experiences, receive encouragement, and learn from others navigating similar challenges. Groups offer opportunities for self-awareness and skill development, along with the motivation and sense of connection that comes from participating with peers. Group options include Trauma Support, Eating Disorder Recovery, Cultivating Resilience (Stress Management), College Student Support, Queer Student Support, Building Social Confidence, and more.
Also confirm the facility is licensed by Illinois. If you are withdrawing from alcohol or benzodiazepines, ask about medical detox; do not stop suddenly on your own.
Connections Health did not report which payment types it accepts. If you have Medicaid, ask whether the facility accepts your Illinois Medicaid plan or can refer you to one that does. Most private plans must cover substance use treatment on terms comparable to other medical care under federal parity law.
