Winding Staircase Recovery is a sober living residence for women in Marietta, Georgia. It was created by Jenny Novoselsky, an educator and a woman with long-term recovery experience. Drawn from her own path, she founded the center to offer education, care, and encouragement to women who are in the early stages of recovery, with the goal of helping them develop meaningful, happier lives. The team, including the house manager, is also in recovery, allowing them to bring firsthand understanding and compassion to their work. The program is built around a secure, organized setting where residents can exchange insights and experiences that support healthier thinking and new behavioral habits.
At Winding Staircase Recovery, residents complete a minimum six-month stay. The services include individualized recovery coaching, guidance for career planning, relapse prevention methods, mindfulness practice, and group community sessions. Participants take part in weekly one-on-one coaching, attend no fewer than six recovery meetings each week, and join community gatherings that focus on mindfulness and relapse prevention. There is also help with daily productivity, financial education, and motivation to move toward employment, further education, or volunteer work.
The home is fully furnished and arranged to encourage connection, featuring an open-concept kitchen and living space, as well as a patio. Its location near public transportation and nearby job opportunities makes it easier to build a stable routine. It sits about 0.3 miles from The Zone, a Recovery Community Organization, giving residents access to many additional resources such as recovery meetings, coaching, a computer lab, a thrift store, yoga, and more. This strong link with the surrounding community expands the support available and strengthens long-term recovery and personal progress.
Also confirm the facility is licensed by Georgia. If you are withdrawing from alcohol or benzodiazepines, ask about medical detox; do not stop suddenly on your own.
Winding Staircase Recovery did not report which payment types it accepts. If you have Medicaid, ask whether the facility accepts your Georgia Medicaid plan or can refer you to one that does.
