About Marr

MARR is a rehab center in Atlanta that offers addiction recovery support to both men and women, with an additional focus on a program specifically designed for professionals. The center provides services for men through residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient programming (IOP), and aftercare. The residential track is structured in three stages. The first is the Feelings School, a six-week period that combines psychiatric assessment, medical oversight, and full participation in the therapeutic community. During this phase, participants complete about 30 hours per week of clinical activities, including group counseling and psychoeducation.

The second stage is the Skills Application phase, which runs for eight weeks and emphasizes relapse prevention counseling along with individual and family therapy. As they progress, clients start putting sober coping strategies into practice while they look for work or mentor others. The third stage, Sober Living, continues for at least twelve weeks, helping men build independence, participate in a spiritual life group, and continue with one-on-one counseling.

The outpatient options typically span 4 to 8 weeks and include individual, group, and family counseling. MARR also covers a wide variety of group therapy subjects such as anger management, relapse prevention, health education, disordered eating, life skills, distress management, shame resilience, body acceptance, self-compassion, and mindfulness. This therapeutic community continues through aftercare, which features alumni events throughout the year aimed at helping men stay connected and less isolated as they transition back into everyday life.
