Peer Support Space is a nonprofit organization situated in Central Florida that provides peer-led support for mental health and substance use challenges, tailored by those with personal experience. Upholding principles of inclusivity, harm reduction, and cultural awareness, it serves as a welcoming alternative to conventional mental health frameworks, particularly for marginalized populations such as LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent communities.
The center organizes more than 75 complimentary peer-led meetings each month, offers individualized peer support services, and operates Eva’s Casita, which is the first LGBTQ-led peer respite facility in the region. Their methodology emphasizes personal agency, mutual understanding, and accessibility, empowering individuals to shape their own paths to recovery.
What makes Peer Support Space unique is its dedication to genuine, community-focused care. By amplifying the voices of those often overlooked by traditional systems and prioritizing relationships over clinical diagnoses, they foster secure environments where individuals can be acknowledged, understood, and supported in their true selves.
