About UF Health Shands

Set on a 10-acre, wooded campus just a few minutes from the main UF Health hospital, the UF Health Florida Recovery Center is dedicated to treating addiction. At Florida Recovery Center, patients receive care from highly trained addiction medicine professionals, including psychiatrists and licensed behavioral health counselors, who stay current with today’s medical approaches. The center provides a complete range of services, from medical detox and inpatient programs to partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP). Recovery care is designed to address the full range of needs, supporting physical health, emotional healing, and spiritual well-being, all within a calm, secure, and compassionate setting. The program is guided by the established 12-Step model.

For those in outpatient programs, on-campus housing is available, giving patients a structured and safe environment to pursue recovery while maintaining independence. UF Health has also enhanced the Florida Recovery Center with a newly rebuilt 9,000-square-foot facility, creating more space for patient care and group programming. In addition, the on-site sober living option provides comfortable accommodations for patients sharing rooms with 1 to 3 roommates. Residents can make use of a variety of outdoor amenities, including an outdoor BBQ area, a pool, a basketball court, volleyball, ping pong, and more.
