About Aware Recovery Care Florida

Aware Recovery Care Florida uses a distinctive “Recover Where You Live” model for addiction care for adults 18+. Through its in-home addiction treatment (IHAT) program, clients receive a blended approach that combines support at home with virtual visits, along with concierge-style assistance designed around each person’s situation. The center’s addiction treatment is built on a biopsychosocial curriculum that uses proven approaches, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), individual counseling, family therapy, and coordination with outside medical and support services. When detox is required, clients can complete medically supervised detox with virtual nursing support and MAT.

The philosophy at Aware Recovery Care Florida emphasizes kindness, empathy, and the conviction that everyone should have a genuine chance to build long-term recovery. By focusing on what each client needs and offering steady help in the home, the program works to support individuals as they move toward a healthier, more rewarding, and addiction-free life.

Each client is assigned a care coordinator, who may be a nurse or social worker, along with two client recovery advisors (CRAs) who provide peer support and help coordinate the treatment process. Together, they determine what additional external services are needed and set up appointments with a primary care provider, an individual therapist, relevant medical specialists, and a family education facilitator. If clients already have established professionals, the medical director at Aware Recovery Care Florida works with them to ensure a smooth, consistent care plan. The family education facilitator also assists loved ones by teaching them about addiction and recovery and by offering guidance on healing together.

The program runs on a monthly schedule, and the length of treatment can vary from one month to as long as a year. The in-home and virtual format includes up to 20 virtual 1:1 therapy sessions with an internal psychotherapist. During these sessions, clients build skills for handling stress, strengthening self-esteem and self-compassion, and improving communication, while also identifying and replacing unhelpful thinking patterns.

A typical day includes a visit of about one hour with a member of the care team. Depending on the day, clients may also have an in-person meeting with a CRA or a video session with their 1:1 therapist. Clients also meet monthly with their Care Coordinator. The care team communicates regularly to keep the plan aligned with the client’s goals and needs.

Upon completion, Aware Recovery Care Florida provides a customized discharge plan shaped by the client’s treatment experience and home environment. The clinical coordinator leads the planning and works with the client to support ongoing involvement in positive social supports, reinforce recovery objectives, and schedule aftercare visits with licensed providers from throughout their treatment journey.
