About Flagler Open Arms Recovery Services
Flagler Open Arms Recovery Services (OARS) is a nonprofit organization focused on helping people and families who are dealing with substance use disorders. Its goal is to offer education, guidance, and peer-based services to those affected by addiction.
OARS provides several types of assistance, including peer support services, no-cost Narcan distribution along with training, recovery support groups, and a speakers’ bureau. Certified recovery peer support specialists work with individuals as they move through the recovery process, and Narcan training is available not only to the public, but also to community partners, businesses, and healthcare professionals.
A key feature of OARS is its peer-driven model. Many of the programs are created and led by people who have firsthand experience with recovery, which helps them connect in a genuine and compassionate way. OARS also actively works to reduce stigma and build a welcoming environment where people in recovery can feel supported.
