About Liberation Programs Inc

Located in partnership with Staples High School, Liberation Programs’ Westport services provide counseling for clients through an intensive outpatient (IOP) program. Sessions are mainly conducted at their office, though telehealth appointments can be arranged when needed. This site is designed primarily for youth and their families.

Liberation Programs works with clients using a harm reduction approach, meeting people where they are. The program offers individual, group, and family counseling, along with medication options such as Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, or Suboxone, which can lessen cravings and support ongoing treatment. Even when a client is not yet prepared to stop using substances completely, Liberation helps reduce the risk of overdose and provides Narcan (naloxone) for use in an emergency.

Beyond direct treatment, Liberation Programs also provides prevention services for adults and youth in the community to help reduce the chances of future addiction or mental health challenges. The staff includes recovery coaches, including coaches with experience supporting clients who are pregnant or parenting. For people in recovery who need temporary housing, the center offers 18 units. Mobile outreach vans help connect individuals to services by providing referrals, medication prescriptions, and educational resources, and the team also participates in community events and schools to discuss substance use.
