About AdventHealth Porter Centre for Behavioral Health

This hospital-based inpatient program is designed for adults coping with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, grief, and substance use. Treatment also includes support for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), perinatal and postpartum conditions, and stress-related difficulties. Clients receive care in a secure, well-organized setting that promotes emotional steadiness and supports recovery under professional supervision.

A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists, and nurses delivers treatment through psychotherapy, counseling, and medication management. When talk therapy and medication are not enough, the team may also offer transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for depression or OCD. As progress is made, the care plan is refined to strengthen coping abilities, increase self-awareness, and improve day-to-day functioning.

The center functions within a hospital environment, with medical and therapeutic support at the heart of care. Throughout the program, staff provide ongoing monitoring and consistent clinical guidance. The focus remains on therapy, practical skill-building, and medication oversight, helping patients develop healthier routines and transition safely to outpatient or community services.
