About Hazelbrook Sober Living & Recovery

Hazelbrook Sober Living & Recovery provides sober living and recovery support for people in the Denver, Colorado Springs, Aurora, and Pueblo areas. The center focuses on creating a stable, structured setting that helps residents work toward long-term substance-use recovery.

The program includes 35 gender-specific homes for men and women, located in suburban neighborhoods. Men’s residences are available in Aurora, Westminster, Arvada, Denver, Thornton, Lakewood, Englewood, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo. Women’s residences are located in Aurora, Arvada, Denver, and Colorado Springs.

Hazelbrook accepts clients age 18 and older who are seeking help with drug addiction. This includes individuals who also struggle with other behavioral addictions or mental health conditions. The center does not accept clients with sex-offense convictions or certain mental health diagnoses.

Residents are required to be at the home by 10 p.m. each night at the start of their stay and attend a weekly house meeting. They must also participate in five recovery meetings per week. These can include meetings hosted by Hazelbrook or by outside organizations. During the week, newer clients may have one guest visit, and the guest must leave by 10 p.m.

As residents show steady progress in recovery and maintain regular on-time rent payments, Hazelbrook loosens certain restrictions. Weekday curfew changes to 11 p.m., while weekend curfew becomes 1 a.m. Recovery meeting attendance can be reduced to three times per week. Weekly guest visits are still permitted, and overnight stays may be allowed with manager approval.

For sober-friendly activities, Hazelbrook also offers access to its ParadigmONE dojo, where residents can take part in boxing, art classes, music classes, weightlifting, and chess. Additional recovery support is available through the Resource Employment and Learning (R.E.A.L.) Center, which provides peer support and therapy services.

Hazelbrook additionally offers several intensive outpatient (IOP) options. These IOP meetings may count toward the weekly requirements for the sober living program. Each IOP option includes five meetings per week, typically combining talk therapy, relapse-prevention counseling, and medication management.

Recovery meeting offerings may include holistic health and fitness support, 12-Step Facilitation sessions, non-12-Step groups for both drug and behavioral addictions, food addiction groups, Bible study, self-care strategy meetings, art therapy classes, and separate women’s and men’s groups.
