About SPIRITT Family Services

SPIRITT Family Services, standing for Skills for Prevention, Intervention, Recovery, Individual Treatment, and Training, is dedicated to preventing child maltreatment and strengthening families across eastern Los Angeles County. The organization aims to improve the social and emotional well-being of the families it supports by strengthening resilience and offering carefully designed programs, along with connections to important services.

SPIRITT supports families through counseling, parenting assistance, and referrals to community resources. Its services cover mental health care, recovery from substance use, and in-home support that helps caregivers strengthen parenting skills. The center also promotes resiliency by offering educational workshops and peer support groups, using a strengths-based approach to help families work through trauma and stress and gain practical skills for a healthier future.

In addition, SPIRITT helps families access key community resources and offers direct support. This may include assistance with rent, utilities, and food, as well as providing necessary items such as diapers and car seats. The organization evaluates needs, coordinates referrals to other supportive programs, and organizes community events and workshops that encourage family connection and address different personal and economic development needs.
