HealthRIGHT360 runs more than 50 programs across 11 counties in California, delivering full-scope care to individuals and families dealing with substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and related co-occurring conditions. Women’s Recovery Association (WRA) has participated alongside them in these programs since 2014, providing residential addiction treatment exclusively for women.
At the Elms House facility, substance misuse treatment for adult women 18 and older includes evidence-based care designed to support each person’s recovery. Clients benefit from an integrated mix of individual counseling, group sessions, and family-focused therapy, all delivered in a secure and encouraging setting. Topics are discussed through a perspective that reflects women’s experiences, including trauma and abuse, managing emotions, relapse prevention, strengthening self-esteem and independence, and building healthier relationships and support networks. The program also addresses co-occurring mental health concerns and general health and wellness. Treatment follows a holistic model using proven therapeutic approaches, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for those who have physical dependence on alcohol or opioids. Additional addiction and mental health services include relapse prevention, 12-Step facilitation, and trauma-informed care.
The residential homes serving women with substance use disorders also provide support for co-occurring mental health needs and other related addictive patterns. Highly trained staff offer specialized care for issues such as eating disorders and nicotine dependence. Programming includes groups created for women ages 18–24 and for young adults to address challenges that are especially relevant to that stage of life.
Women’s Recovery Association and HealthRIGHT360 are non-profit organizations that serve low-income individuals and families, including those who use state Medicaid. Both organizations are CARF-accredited and focus on people experiencing homelessness, those who are on parole, women with children, and youth and young adults, with services provided since 1967.
