About Covenant Hills Treatment Center
Covenant Hills Treatment Center (Covenant Hills) offers both faith-based and conventional treatment programs for women dealing with addiction as well as co-occurring mental health challenges. Covenant Hills’ faith-based Christian track blends biblical guidance and prayer with established, research-backed therapies, the 12 Steps, individual and group counseling, and relapse prevention support. The traditional (non-Christian) pathway also follows the 12 Steps and is open to women from all backgrounds.
Covenant Hills provides care for addiction and dual diagnosis through a 60-day residential program, day treatment, intensive outpatient services, and aftercare. The center tailors its approach to the specific needs of women, including topics such as parenting and motherhood, experiences of sexual assault, pregnancy, body image, and related challenges. Women are encouraged to build supportive connections and share concerns in a safe, women-focused environment. Across levels of care, Covenant Hills offers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma-focused therapy, pastoral counseling, and family therapy.
In Dana Point, Covenant Hills’ women’s center accommodates up to 14 women. Following an initial assessment, the center coordinates detox through a partnered medical facility before clients return for residential treatment. After completing residential care, women may transition to day treatment, with housing options available through Covenant Hills’ sober living homes in Orange County. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) includes three hours of clinical and spiritual services each Monday through Friday. During IOP, clients may either live at home or reside in sober living settings.
The Christian recovery track features daily devotionals, pastoral counseling, and dedicated time for prayer and meditation. All clients can also access nutrition and wellness education, Gorski relapse prevention therapy, interactive activities, and off-site equine therapy facilitated by one of the center’s marriage and family therapists. Covenant Hills’ aftercare includes ongoing groups such as anger management, anxiety and stress support, family dynamics groups, and practical skill-building sessions. Alumni participate in continuing support groups. Covenant Hills also provides a Recovery Assurance Guarantee, allowing clients who relapse after treatment to return for one complimentary week focused on stabilization and reassessment.
