About Service League of San Mateo County

Service League of San Mateo County Hope House provides a high-structure residential program for adult women who are working through substance use disorder. The center serves pregnant women, new mothers, and people who also face mental health challenges, trauma, or homelessness. Care is tailored to each person’s needs, delivered in a supportive, well-organized, and culturally respectful setting. While receiving treatment, mothers are supported in caring for their infants.

The program combines proven, gender-responsive group and one-on-one counseling with education focused on addiction and relapse prevention. Participants may also receive therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), art therapy, and hypnotherapy to build practical coping strategies. Through these services, women strengthen their ability to manage the emotional and psychological impact of addiction, adopt healthier daily routines, and find community-based support. Hope House also offers a stable residential environment, with 16 beds in two homes, including space specifically designed for mothers and their babies.
